Kathryn Lynne Bishop has been named Student Leader of the Month - February 2015

Kathryn Lynne Bishop of Sugar Land, Texas, has been named Schreiner University's Student Leader of the Month for February 2015.

Bishop is a junior English and music double major who prides herself on striving to become what she calls the "modern Renaissance woman." Passionate about absorbing all that she can of the humanities and the college experience at Schreiner, Bishop is currently a violinist in the Schreiner String Quartet, Chamber Ensemble, and Symphony of the Hills; the Editor-in-Chief of the Reveille Newspaper; Senior RA over Flato Hall and L.A. Schreiner; Vice-President for the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society; Liberal Arts Senator in the Student Government Association; and certified assistant coach on the Archery Team. She has also presented her original essays and creative works at the National Undergraduate Literature Conference in Ogden, Utah, maintained her position on the President's List, and is a proud Hatton Sumners Scholar. Outside of Schreiner, Bishop teaches violin lessons to students ranging from seven- to 20-years-old and aspires to attend Rice University for her doctorate in English.

She is a great leader on campus and we are lucky to have her."

The Student Leader of the month is an award sponsored by Student Services that recognizes a Schreiner University undergraduate student for their excellence in leadership through campus involvement, leadership activities and/or through volunteer and community service programs.
